Friday, September 25, 2009
Sorrel King was a young mother of four when her 18-month old daughter Josie was badly burned in a household accident. Josie was taken to the hospital, where she recovered nicely – until a series of medical errors led to her death. In Josie’s Story, Sorrel writes about the breakdowns in Josie’s care, her family’s grief, the nationwide problem of medical errors, and the patient safety advancements that have come about in Josie’s name.
Sorrel King is the daughter of Sorrel Mackall McElroy '55.
